spring

Posted on Friday, March 26th, 2010 at 7:37 pm

We have had some really nice weather lately (with the exception of this morning’s snow flurries). Last Saturday was about 70 and we had to break out Charlotte’s sun hat for the first time this year.

The train was running late and Charlotte got pretty antsy in her stroller.

We went to the Curious George exhibit at the Children’s Museum.

Burp

This was a few weeks ago. Charlotte says words very sporadically, so I don’t think we have heard her say “burp” again. But, now, when we ask her to burp, she makes a funny, loud, fake burping noise. (Burping lessons are all Brian’s doing.)

The train museum in Roslindale had an open house a few weeks ago and Charlotte was pretty fascinated by the trains.

table for two

Posted on Saturday, March 20th, 2010 at 7:22 pm

We got Charlotte a little table and chairs at Ikea last weekend. She sometimes sits at it to eat, and other times just sort of uses it as a buffet table. She also likes to push it around.

Also, our computer is fixed! This is exciting except we lost every program and file that was on it, so we are still getting everything back in order.

technical difficulties

Our terrible computer has died and is getting fixed, which will allegedly take a few weeks. So we won’t have many pictures and videos in the meantime (my little netbook computer can’t really handle them). Charlotte has been doing well–she is using sign language, which is very useful. She does “more,” “all done,” and “eat.” She also rubs her head when she wants a bath, and she makes a funny little monkey motion with her arms when we ask her what a monkey says. She also dances and stomps her feet on command. Charlotte has said a few random words here and there, but not consistently. We’ve heard “Elmo,” “burp,” “bus,” and “mud.”

Charlotte got her first ride on Brian’s shoulders yesterday. She gets very excited to go out for walks lately–she runs to the door and points at her coat if we mention going out. She is really into buses and trucks and the train, so we just do a loop around Roslindale and she is very entertained.

This is from last weekend, when we had some nice sunny days in the high 40s. The snow is all melted now and we’ve had a lot of rain lately.

These are a few pictures of Charlotte from this week. This first picture is the face she makes when we take out the camera and say “Smile!”

Charlotte spent a lot of time pressing the buttons on the safe in our NY hotel room.

what Charlotte did on the train

The train ride to New York wasn’t too bad with Charlotte on the way down. She played in her seat a lot and looked at books, and ran up and down the aisles. She was pretty worn out and cranky on the way back, though.
